Counseling Services
Pictured here is my counseling space I use for clients. My mission is to create a comfortable environment for clients and families. Below include the individual counseling services and therapeutic approaches I specialize in. This is not an exhaustive list. Please contact me for any questions or inquiries about therapy and techniques.
My counseling approach can include one of these approaches or a combination, depending on the client's needs.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
A type of therapy that helps children learn to identify and change negative thoughts and replace negative thoughts to feel happier and behave in more helpful ways. It's like being a "thought detective" to find unhelpful thinking patterns and replace them with more positive ones, allowing them to cope better with tough situations.

A theraputic approach that helps children learn practical skills to manage intense emotions, improve interpersonal relationships, and cope with stressful situations by teaching them mindfulness techniques, emotional regulation strategies, distress tolerance skills, and effective communication methods.

Solution Focused Counseling (SFBT)
A positive, goal-oriented approach that focuses on highlighting a child's strengths and abilities to help them identify and work towards solutions to their challenges, rather than dwelling on the problems themselves; it emphasizes what is working well and encourages them to build upon those positive aspects to create desired changes in their lives.
Culturally
Sensitive
Providing with a deep understanding and respect for a child's cultural background, values, and traditions, ensuring the counseling environment feels safe and welcoming by acknowledging and celebrating their unique cultural identity, and adapting therapeutic approaches to effectively address their needs within their cultural context; essentially, it's about providing support that is tailored to the child's cultural experiences to foster a sense of belonging and promote positive mental health

Mindfulness-Based
(MBCT)
A therapeutic approach that teaches children to become aware of their thoughts, feelings, and body in the present moment, without judgment, allowing them to better manage their emotions, cope with stress, and make conscious choices in daily situations, often utilizing practices like deep breathing, sensory awareness exercises, and guided imagery.

Positive
Psychology
A therapy-based counseling approach for children focuses on identifying and building upon a child's natural strengths, positive qualities, and resilience, rather than solely addressing weaknesses, to promote overall well-being, happiness, and self-esteem by utilizing techniques like gratitude exercises, goal setting, and positive self-talk, often incorporating play-based activities to engage young clients effectively
